Hi there friend. Thank you for taking your time to read our biography. My name is Vang Yang and currently serving as the Lead Pastor for Alliance Bible Church in Coon Rapids, MN. I am married to my wonderful wife Shannon, and we have 3 children; Nate, Lucas, and Maddy. We have been serving the people of God for quite some time now and learned that at the heart of serving is the character attribute of love.
About the family:
We love to go biking together as a family. One thing that brings us together is music and that about wraps it up. Let’s keep things simple for now...
I enjoy being physically active; Mountain biking (safe mountain biking) would be at the top of the list for now while Tennis would come second and etc.
I grew up in church but never knew about having a true relationship with Jesus. It wasn’t until a Youth conference in 1996 that I decided to give my life to the Lord. Even then, I still felt lost. I came home from the conference and still did the whole “church” thing but had no idea what my relationship with Jesus should look like or how I should live life. I honestly was lost and tried my best to live life according to what I knew. Well, that didn’t work out too well. That mentality carried on into my marriage until one day, it finally clicked (see my life verse). God moved me in a way to see Him from a different perspective. I finally saw myself in a new world; no longer living to please others or myself. I started to realize who I was on the inside and that I needed God to change me from the inside out. I started to serve and sacrifice my time for others because I now knew how much God loved us by sacrificing and sending His son to die for us.
It was that turning point in my life where I finally understood what it meant to surrender my life to Christ. One of my life verses is found in the book of Galatians 5:22-25, “ But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.”
My Vision: My vision for this church is that we would be a United, Christo-Centric, and God-fearing Community that disciples the people of the local community and world around us regardless of race, identity, or gender in efforts to inspire them to see God from a Biblical perspective.
